Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) hosted the first biannual city briefing event for stakeholders and partners to uphold the tourism sector’s performance across key markets and insights into major development, marketing initiatives and future growth strategies.
Over 1,000 managers and executives from partner companies including tour operators, tourism attractions, and destination management companies took part in the event.
Dubai Police presented its “Oyoon” smart security surveillance initiative, which was developed for ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors to Dubai.
Dubai Tourism Director General Helal Saeed Almarri said, “While we are pleased with the positive performance of the industry since the beginning of this year, Dubai Tourism is committed to hosting such events to ensure that our stakeholders are well aligned with the emirate’s tourism strategy to be able to collectively take advantage of the diverse campaigns and concerted efforts being made to attract more visitors to the city.”
The city briefing was followed by the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Awards, which felicitates and celebrates the contribution of Dubai’s hotels and tourism companies towards the city’s sustainability goals. JA The Resort was named Dubai’s most sustainable five-star resort, while Centro Barsha bagged the three-star category, and Taj Dubai’s director of engineering was named sustainability champion.
