Dubai Tourism launches SMEs Start-up Competition which can help to uplift the Nigerian SME owners, especially those who are in tourism business for the new business solutions on travel and tourism industries.
SMEs Start-up Competition is hosted by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) along with a strategic collaboration with GITEX Future Stars.
This event will the first ever Dubai Tourism Start-up Competition which is inviting the bright minds and innovators from around the world to present their business ideas and business plans that will further revolutionise the travel and tourism sectors of the city.
The competition is in line with the Dubai 10X initiative launched under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which is guiding the journey of United Arab Emirate towards becoming a global hub for innovation in the next ten years.
This competition is an effort towards discovering the innovative solutions and facilitating further growth of the start-up ecosystem. This event will also prosper the Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, to attract 20 million visitors per year by 2020.
Yousuf Lootah, Executive Director – Tourism Development & Investments, Dubai’s Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing said on the topic of Dubai Tourism Futurism Competition, that Dubai has grown to become a business capital of the region along with a launch of the first-ever Dubai Tourism Futurism Competition with an aim to continue to encourage the startups to succeed.
He also added that as we progress towards the future, the start-ups play a decisive role not only in the growth of the economy, but also in discovering the business solutions to meet in evolving the needs and tackle industry gaps.
They said that they are proud to collaborate with GITEX Future Stars to coerce in the entrepreneurship forward, and are committed to building an environment that will help nurture innovative ideas and facilitate success.
SMEs Start-up Competition has the total prize value of about US$ 100,000, which has also been allocated to be distributed to the six winners as initial start-up capital.
The Dubai Tourism Futurism Competition will also offer a stage for the world’s best travel technology startups to come together to enhance and disrupt technology solutions for travellers across the world.
