The National Capital Region’s international gateway grew even bigger Wednesday, with the start of two new nonstop United Airlines destinations from Washington Dulles International Airport that have never before had nonstop service from any Washington-area airport.
Starting on May 25, United began daily, seasonal service to Barcelona and Lisbon. Service to Barcelona will be operated through October 29 with Boeing 767 aircraft. Service to Lisbon will be operated with Boeing 757 aircraft through September 6.
“United’s addition of flights to Barcelona and Lisbon gives passengers new travel options and further solidifies Dulles International as the region’s gateway to the world,” said Vice President of Airline Business Development Mike Stewart.
