Durban is now starting to get the recognition it deserves as South Africa’s third largest city prepares to come under the spotlight of the international tourism industry next month, says a proud South African Tourism Chief Executive Officer Thulani Nzima.
In just under a month, the city will become the international tourism industry’s hot spot as it hosts the Tourism Indaba, which is regarded as one of the top three must visit events of its kind on the global calendar.
The three-day event will be held at the Durban International Convention Centre from May 9 and Nzima said here Tuesday that Durban’s tourism experiences now ranked up there with some of the best on the continent.
“We are very, very happy that Durban has now been recognized for what it can offer in terms of tourism experiences. Visitors are local people who are naturally very happy that the destination where the Indaba is showcased is getting high levels of accolade.”
