Dutch culture on show at ‘Holland Village’ in Ho Chi Minh City

Dutch cultureThe Dutch government will host “Holland Village” at September 23rd park in later this month to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands.

 

The event, open November 22 to December 1, will include a real-size windmill, exhibitions of Dutch art works, flower landscapes, rows of quaint Dutch-style houses, as well as displays featuring some of Holland’s biggest companies, including Unilever, Philips and Heineken, according to the.

 

Visitors will also be fed traditional Dutch snacks, including herring cured with salt, smoked cobia, fried battered fish bites or battered boneless crunchy fish fillets, made by a Dutch Fish expert Gerrit Morren, who has been living in Vietnam’s central coastal city of Nha Trang since 2005.

 

A 49-year-old seafood expert from the Netherlands, Gerrit Morren has been working in seafood since he was 15 years in his hometown of Spakenburg, a traditional dutch fishing village
