An Easyjet plane had to make an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Edinburgh Airport. The aircraft took off at 12:40 pm and was on its way to Hamburg, Germany, when it experienced a technical issue.
It was diverted to Newcastle Airport and landed safely at about 13:25, where it was met by emergency services.
A spokesperson for Easyjet said that due to a technical issues flight EZY6931 was diverted to Newcastle as a “precautionary measure”.
“The safety of its passengers and crew is EasyJet’s highest priority and EasyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all manufacturers’ guidelines,” she said.
She further apologiesd to the passengers for the resultant delay.
