emergency-landing1The passengers onboard of an easyJet flight suffered a dramatic incident while the Airbus A319 circled several times over Lough Neagh and Belfast before making an emergency landing.

The easyJet flight was scheduled to fly from London Stansted to Belfast; however, the plane hovered over the Belfast airport for around 20 minutes. But, after landing the passengers sat in the plane for another 45 minutes before they were allowed to leave.

According to one passenger in the front row of the plane, the flight had been early and started its descent into Belfast at 8.50pm, but at that point the pilot announced that there was a technical issue and landing would be delayed.

The easyJet aircraft landed safely and an emergency drill was employed immediately as a routine and precautionary measure. Once at its stand all passengers disembarked normally.

According to the latest reports, the problem was due to the malfunctioning of the landing equipment which led to the unwanted incident. However, the flight is under examination as engineers are working on the aircraft to determine the exact issue.
