easyJet has this week had two new flights taking off from Bristol Airport for the first time. The airline’s inaugural flights from Bristol to the Greek island of Zante launched on Wednesday and to Catania in Sicily yesterday.
easyJet now flies to an impressive 53 destinations from Bristol Airport – more than any other airline. Seven of these destinations have taken their first flight in the past month, with flights to Lanzarote, Porto, Bilbao, Gibraltar and the Isle of Man having launched mid-April. Bristol Airport is now easyJet’s largest base outside of London.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, said:
“We have grown considerably in Bristol since opening our operations at Bristol Airport just under 13 years ago and we’re absolutely delighted to provide these two new summer destinations to our growing portfolio, providing ever more choice to our passengers in the South West. We are confident that these new routes will be a great hit with holidaymakers looking for some summer sun.
“Zante is renowned for its stunning beaches and lively nightlife, but is also privileged with spectacular scenery, nature and traditional Greek tavernas.
“Catania is the second largest city in Sicily set in the foothills of Mount Etna which provides a breathtaking backdrop for tourists. Full of history, architecture and worldclass Italian dining, Catania is one not to be missed.”
Shaun Browne, Aviation Director at Bristol Airport, said:
“We are delighted with the addition of these new routes and the improved destination range available to passengers in the South West and Wales region. These routes will be a popular choice over the summer season and we will continue to enhance the options available to passengers.”
Holidaymakers can take advantage of easyJet’s low fares at www.easyjet.com with flights to Zante starting from £32.34* per person and Catania from £32.24* per person.
