The Egypt Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is taking part with a high-level delegation from the tourism sector, headed by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs Ghada Shalaby in the 40th edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR).
The 40th edition of (FITUR) is starting from Jan 22nd in the Spanish capital, Madrid, and would continue till Jan 26.
Shalaby stressed the importance of the Ministry’s participation in FITUR, which is considered as one of the three most important international exhibitions globally. She described the Egyptian participation as a great opportunity for increasing the Egyptian presence on the international tourist map, providing direct contact with the operators of tourism and aviation industry in the world.
The Head of the Egyptian General Authority for the Promotion of Tourism Ahmed Youssef explained that (FITUR) is the third most important global tourism gathering after the Berlin Stock Exchange and London and it is an effective method of promotion for attracting more tourists to the Egyptian tourist destinations from the tourism exporting markets.
The Egyptian pavilion in FITUR has been designed in the form of a Pharaonic temple, in modern colors, equipped with columns, with hieroglyphic writing. During the exhibition’s activities, the Grand Egyptian Museum will be highlighted, which is scheduled to open in the last quarter of this year.
The Egyptian pavilion will have display screens on its external sides to show promotional films on various Egyptian tourist destinations.
