For this year, Egypt has grown immensely to be the world’s one of the rapid growing destinations in terms of overseas visitors, as confirmed by the reports of the United Nations World Tourism Organization or UNWTO.
2015 witnessed the ban flight services by the United Kingdom and Russia. Even this couldn’t deter visitor arrival this year in Egypt as it saw a massive boost of 51 percent.
The report says, “that hasn’t stopped other nationalities flocking to the country, which has witnessed a 51 per cent spike in international tourist arrivals this year and is on course to welcome nearly eight million holiday travelers in 2017.” Palestine occupied the number one position on the said list. The country witnessed a 57 percent increase in visitor arrival across the globe.
Though the study mentioned side by side that in spite of the new ranking, the higher visitor number is still significantly lower in comparison to the 2011 uprising.
Other Nations are also in a fairly good spot
The Northern Mariana Islands of Pacific occupied the third spot on the list after Egypt, with Iceland coming in at fourth.
It has been said that 35 percent growth of Iceland can be accredited to its role in “Game of Thrones”, the globally popular television series, portion of which were shot in the island nation.
