Egyptian naval forces have successfully rescued nine Malaysian and eight regional tourists from their broken motorboat that was dangerously on the verge of capsizing off the northern Red Sea coast amidst bad weather, as has been specified by an Egyptian military spokesman in its official statement.
The regional news media of China has reported about this incident.
The forces also responded to a distress call from the sinking tourist boat that was at a distance of nearly 35 nautical miles southeast of Safaga island in the Red Sea and had saved the 17 Malaysians and Egyptians, according to Tamer al-Refaay, a military spokesman in the statement.
The spokesman said that currently a search is underway for an Egyptian who is still missing.
He added that the rescued tourists were transferred to the naval base of the Red Sea and were also offered the necessary medical aid.
