Two French tourists were found dead while diving in the Australia’s Great Barrier Reef out of heart attack. This couple aged 76 and 74 respectively and they were a part of an elderly group of 21 members. To quote Col McKenzie, executive director of Association of Marine Park Tourism Operators, ‘It just appears to be the perfect storm: two events occurring at the same time’. He also said that this type of incident didn’t happen in 35 years.
It has also been confirmed that the deceased had already stated a pre-existing medical condition and confirmed it on paper before diving. They were discovered on the beach close to the diving area and all attempts to revive them were turned futile. However, official cause of the death is yet to be disclosed.
