Electronics ban lifted from Emirates, Turkish Airlines

laptopThe US Government has announced the lifting of ban on large electronics such as laptops for US –bound flights from Dubai on Emirates and from Istanbul on Turkish Airlines.


It was followed closely by the ban lift in Abu Dhabi and Etihad.


The customers boarding Emirates and Turkish Airlines can now take their laptops into the cabin on flights to the US.


Bilal Eksi, CEO of Turkish Airlines said that the airline will soon be lifting ban on flights to England, which was implemented within weeks of the US ban.


The decision to remove restrictions on US –bound flights was put into effect after security officials inspected Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport.


Emirates had to earlier cut flights to five US cities on account of the previous restrictions.


By July 19, Saudia Arabia Airlines is expecting the ban to be lifted from Jeddah and Reyadh.


The ban on Laptops and larger electronics was imposed since March at 10 airports in eight countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Jordon, the United Arab Emirates, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Turkey.
