jomo-kenyatta-international-airportThe international airport in Nairobi had to close down the runway for a temporary period of time as a flight from Somalia made an emergency landing on its belly, around 4:55 pm local time on Sunday, 27th November. The airport authorities were forced to close the runway as the flight veered off the runway after making the emergency landing.

Although the flight made a rough landing, none of the passengers were reported to be hurt during landing attempt. The flight landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and right after the landing the airport authorities had to close the runway to evacuate the passengers from the jet. The incident also prompted the airport authorities to divert other incoming flights to the nearby airports.

The airport authorities did not reveal any details about the flight. The cause of the emergency landing was not revealed as well.

It could not be known when the flights to and from the airport will resume.
