The 21st East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel (EMITT) exhibition is expected to host 5,000 institutions and organizations from over 80 countries along with 60,000 local and international visitors and 430 foreign tour operators.
This event will be held from January 26th to 29th. Hacer Aydın, ITE Turkey Tourism, Travel and Fashion Group Director said that among the many lessons that Turkey has learned from issues with its tourism industry over the last two years, market diversity has been the most crucial. Aydın said that a large portion of the 430 foreign tour operators to be featured in this exhibition bring over 1,000 tourists to Turkey on a regular basis.
These new tour operators will provide an impetus to Turkey’s tourism industry. He said that the participation of these 430 operators will fetch an additional 2 million tourists to Turkey this year. There will be two panels in this exhibition, with the first one to be held on the opening day and moderated by Taleb Rifai, the UNWTO Secretary-General. The second panel will be moderated on the second day of the event.
