Engine trouble forces emergency landing of Virgin Australia flight

Virgin AustraliaEngine troubles forced a passenger flight from Coolangatta to Sydney to make an emergency landing in Brisbane.


The pilot detected engine complications a shirt while after taking off from the Gold Coast on Thursday evening and diverted the plane thereafter. The Virgin Australia flight VA546 touched down in Brisbane about 10 p.m. on Thursday with firefighters reaching quickly to the scene.


A spokesperson of Virgin Australia told the media that the captain had decided to divert the flight to Brisbane as a precautionary measure after an indication light illuminated just after take-off.


As part of the security processes the captain reported the matter and the plane was met on arrival by emergency services as just a precautionary measure.


There have been no reports of any injuries of any of the passengers or staff members. All the guests had been offered overnight accommodation and would be arriving in Sydney this morning.
