Illuminating Canberra for its sixth year, Enlighten 2016 will transform the Parliamentary Triangle into a hive of activity, featuring the return of the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets, a range of free entertainment and stunning architectural projections that will light up six of Australia’s most iconic buildings.
Enlighten 2016, which runs from March 4-12, will see Canberra city come alive after dark, as the festival delivers another program of exciting events and experiences.
Australian Parliament House, National Portrait Gallery, National Library of Australia, Museum of Australian Democracy, National Gallery of Australia and Questacon will all display projections on their walls, while also offering a unique opportunity to explore inside their buildings after dark.
Showing the expansion of the event across the city, there will also be activations at the National Zoo and Aquarium, Canberra Glassworks, National Archives of Australia, Australian Botanic Gardens and the Royal Australian Mint.
This year’s event is guaranteed to excite, surprise and thrill locals and visitors to the nation’s capital.
The creativity of the program in 2016 was captured during the launch of Enlighten 2016 at the National Gallery of Australia’s Contemporary Art Space on Feb 1.
