Denver International Airport’s (DEN) latest art exhibit features a plethora of origami animals made in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Located at the Terminal Gallery on level 5 west of the Jeppesen Terminal, near the north security checkpoint, the exhibit can be viewed through September.
The exhibit highlights the precision and technical skill of several Epic Origami artists who fold miniature to life-sized sculptures with a variety of mediums consisting of paper, aluminum, copper and canvas. Epic Origami is a team of origami artists from around the world led by Artist Bonnie Cherni of Boulder, Colorado. Cherni coordinates the team’s collective skills for public exhibits.
Each artist brings their own individual flair and style to the exhibit, which features such creatures as cranes, rhinos, penguins and dragons. The paper splendors on view helps to engage travelers about the origami art form while creating awareness about endangered species in the ocean and on land.
