In the last six months, Ethiopia earned more than 1.6 billion USD from tourism sector. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism while talking about Ethiopia’s six month performance report with the state bureau revealed that the amount was protected in the midst of lot of challenges of previous disturbances.
Minister Dr. Hirut Woldemariam believes that the tourism industry is still in its early years in spite of having numerous attractions spread across. The minister described the place, ‘Ethiopia the Land of Origins ‘ with its Amharic equivalent ‘Midre Qedemt’.
She also said that her leadership is all focused to take this industry to the next level and invited the stakeholders to speed their actions. Tourism specialist Tedros Derbew while presenting the report said 439,359 tourists visited Ethiopia across the globe in the last six months.
