In an event held in the United States recently, Ethiopian Airlines Regional Director for the Americas Kagnew Asfaw, who signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on behalf of the Ethiopian national flag carrier, highlighted the child prodigy’s astonishing achievements.
The amazingly gifted Nigerian girl bagged the award in recognition of her many firsts, including being the first 10-year-old to interview eight sitting heads of state, the first and only ten-year-old to interview the richest black person in the World (Aliko Dangote), and the first ten-year-old to be accredited to a world media conference (alongside seasoned CNN, Reuters and CNBC correspondents).
She is also the first ten-year-old to interview sports personalities Venus and Serena Williams, the first ten-year-old to be compared to both Larry King and Oprah Winfrey because of her interviewing prowess, the first ten-year-old to be featured in Forbes magazine, and the first African child appointed an honorary ambassador by a foreign government.
She is simply seen as a remarkable African girl, of Nigerian heritage, the airlines said.
As part of the agreement, the airline will be Oyewole’s official carrier to her many engagements and projects across three continents, including Africa and South America, where she is continuously meeting with world leaders and making a case for girl-child-education.
