A new restaurant serving Modern Australian cuisine will shortly open in Metro Hotel Perth, as part of the property’s $14 million renovation. The renovation includes the addition of 53 new rooms in the newly built ‘Aspire Wing’.
Named Red Bill Restaurant, the 100-seat restaurant will cater for hotel guests as well as residents of Perth, and will open for breakfast and dinner seven days a week.
Headed by Executive Chef Jesse Emerton-King, the new menu will feature fresh, in-season
local produce for which Western Australia has become known.
“There is a real food scene in Perth, and people are keen to try new dishes which is great tosee,” Emerton-King said. “What I can promise is that our diners will enjoy delicious produce-driven contemporary Australian cuisine.”
Emerton-King brings with him experience from the Sydney food scene along with time spent overseas cooking in England and Germany. He completed part of his apprenticeship in Western Australia before completing it in Sydney, his last stint at one of Wollongong’s most popular restaurants, the Harbour Front Seafood Restaurant.
The new dinner menu will include interesting dishes such as beer & miso lamb ribs, radish & asparagus ($18) and grilled asparagus, confit egg yolk, buffalo mozzarella ($18) for entrée. Mains include some mouth watering dishes such as lamb linguine, asparagus, onion, garlic, chilli, cherry tomatoes & white wine ($28.50) or try out the roasted fig, asparagus & couscous salad, herb yoghurt drizzle ($28). Sweet tooths will love the chilled pineapple soup, fennel, iced coconut ($13) – perfect on a balmy summer evening.
Red Bill Restaurant will open its doors later this month. Dinner daily from 5.30 pm – 10.00pm. The restaurant is located at Metro Hotel Perth, 61 Canning Highway, South Perth.
