“Insight’s Luxury Gold collection delivers the ultimate in luxury and refinement, and ‘The British Royale’ is a prime example,” said Evon Ler, President of Insight Vacations (Asia). “Our guests stay in the country’s best five-star hotels – like The Milestone Hotel in London, overlooking Kensington Palace – and enjoy a collection of exclusive VIP experiences.
The Milestone Hotel
The itinerary begins in London, featuring Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the pomp and pageantry of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. At the Tower of London, a Yeoman Warder leads an exclusive private viewing of the Crown Jewels before drinks and canapés are served in the Hall of Monarchs. Guests enjoy exquisite accommodations at The Milestone Hotel, rated TripAdvisor’s “Best Hotel in the UK.” Guests will enjoy gourmet experiences at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze restaurant, Simpson’s-in-the-Strand, and the ‘In and Out’ Naval Military Club – a St. James’s private members club where imaginative cuisine is guaranteed.
Guests explore the peaceful Kent countryside and its fairytale Leeds Castle before continuing on to Canterbury’s glorious 11th century cathedral, the inspiration for Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales.” Highclere, “The Real Downton Abbey,” opens its doors to Insight Vacations, where guests can admire its elegant staterooms and the downstairs, where much of the TV series is filmed. The next experience is the ancient town of Bath, and then on to the unparalleled views, luxurious hideaways and gentle rolling hillsides of the Cotswolds in the tranquil English Lake District.
Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland’s family for more than 700 years, is one of the United Kingdom’s most significant heritage destinations and is featured in the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey’s 2014 Christmas special. Guests are welcomed by Her Grace The Duchess of Northumberland, for a personal and exclusive tour of her gardens before enjoying a locally-inspired lunch on the grounds.
