South African Tourism confirmed today that exhibitor registrations for INDABA 2017 are now open. One of the largest global tourism marketing events, INDABA 2017 will take place from 16-18 May 2017 and is set to connect the South African tourism industry with the best of quality global industry players by attracting quality international buyers and media from across the world.
“INDABA 2017 is about industry partnerships and collaborations with a common purpose to showcase South Africa’s tourism offering. We are constantly taking in feedback from the industry in order to ensure that we provide real value and benefits for all exhibitors (small and big) for better business dealings,” says Sisa Ntshona, South African Tourism Chief Executive Officer.
“Rates for exhibiting have only escalated by 6% (CPIX), where most exhibition organisers have increased the rates from between 10 – 12% for 2017. South African Tourism is absorbing the increased costs in order to minimise the effect on exhibitors. We believe that the quality of exhibitors is vital in order to attract the right audience to the exhibition next year. The harsh economic climate could affect the decision of some exhibitors to attend and it is for this reason that we have decided to absorb the costs,” explains Ntshona.
Registered TOMSA members qualify for a 10% discount per m² and registered TGCSA members, as at 31st July 2016, qualify for a 5% per m² discount. All exhibitors that are contractually signed up for INDABA 2017 and pay 100% of their fees by 30th November 2016, qualify for an early bird discount of 5% per m². A 10% per m² discount will be awarded to all exhibitors that have participated as an exhibitor at INDABA for six consecutive years and a loyalty discount of 5% per m² will be awarded to those who have exhibited at least once over the past five years. A new exhibitor incentive of 10% per m² will be awarded to first-time participants whilst a 25% discount per m² is available for exhibitors, irrespective of how many of the above discounts they qualify for.
