Eat Local Week asks visitors and Scenic Rim locals to consider their food and wine choices and recognise the vast array of products available on their doorstep. This festival of food and farming runs during the first week of the Queensland June-July school holidays at various locations around the Scenic Rim region, which is just one hour’s drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
This year QAGOMA Executive Chef, Josue (Josh) Lopez, joins Eat Local Week as the event’s official ambassador. Josh will lead a Discovery & Degustation Tour of the region and he will present a cooking demonstration at the Winter Harvest Festival, sharing his passion for local, seasonal ingredients.
This authentic food event connects consumers with food producers and highlights the benefits of sourcing food that’s in-season, close to the source.
