The temperatures had hit a high of just 48 degrees Fahrenheit on 3rd January and a freeze effect overnight.
The temperatures have dipped so low that some of the largest theme parks of Orlando are closing their doors till the days grow warmer.
Disney World is closing Typhoon Lagoon till Thursday, that is 4th January. On the other hand the other water park of Disney that is named Blizzard Beach already remains closed for refurbishments.
Universal Orlando, the neighbor of Disney is closing its newest park, Volcano Bay, through Friday.
SeaWorld is also closing its water park, Aquatica, through at least Thursday.
Orlando water parks would sometimes close early too, on the cold days if the attendance levels here are much below normal. And it is very uncommon that the parks would announce multiple days of closures in advance.
The other parks have not announced any further closings and water rides within the parks (including Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom or the Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal) continues to be operational.
The main parks of Disney World like AnimalKingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom have, however never ever closed in the past because of cold climatic conditions. But then these parks had been closed four times on account of hurricanes including the one that had struck earlier this year, for Hurricane Irma.
