One of the officials said that post the establishment of construction fumes in the control facility that handles high altitude flights over the Washington DC area that resulted in a temporary ground stop in three major airports around the nation’s capital.
The FAA mentioned yesterday in a statement that the fire department in Leesbyrg, Va has cleared air traffic controllers for the Dulles International Airport, Ronal Reagan Washington National Airport and Baltimore Washington International Airport to resume their posts at an FAA facility in that community.
The FAA reported that it had been earlier observed that flights from Duelles were barred at the gate and experienced taxi delays from an hour stretching upto 45 minutes. Regan experienced a delay of almost two hours.
The local fire officials evacuated Washington Center in Leesburg located 30 miles of Washington, after the fumes from the contraction work permeated the control room as per the FAA.
New flights were stopped from flying in the high altitude flights over the area and it was handed over to the air traffic control facilities.
