It was success all the way for Fáilte Ireland’s marketing team as it picked up two awards at the Love Radio Awards (held recently in the Mansion House, Dublin) for its promotion over the airwaves of the Wild Atlantic Way in a dedicated series of features on the Ryan Tubridy Show.
The tourism authority collected Gold for Best Collaboration between Radio Station and Agency and Bronze for Best Commercial Radio Promotion at the Love Radio Awards which showcase honour the very best in creativity in Irish commercial radio.
This is the second consecutive year Fáilte Ireland’s Discover Ireland campaign have worked with the Ryan Tubridy Show in a series of outside broadcasts which saw Ryan focussing on the west coast tourism route, the Wild Atlantic Way, encouraging Irish holidaymakers to get out and discover the wonders of Ireland’s western seaboard.
Speaking about the award and the importance of the Wild Atlantic Way, Fáilte Ireland’s Director of Marketing, Noel-John McLoughlin said: “In recent years, Fáilte Ireland has recalibrated its resources and put ever greater emphasis on innovation, creativity and collaboration. These accolades are a welcome reflection of this ongoing work in our marketing strategy.
“We were delighted to assist Ryan to experience the Wild Atlantic Way first-hand and, more importantly, tell his listeners all about it. Radio features like this are a fantastic way to reach out to Irish people who are considering holidaying at home and to ensure that they are fully aware of everything that the touring route has to offer.”
