China’s cruise tourism is about to receive a drive the famous cruise line Costa Crociere has shown interest in deepening co-operations with Chinese cruise tour operators including China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
Costa Crociere delegation, headed by its CEO Michael Thamm, visited China recently. The delegation was received by China National Tourism Administration vice chairman Li Shihong.
Li hoped that Costa Crociere would make the best of the opportunity in the Chinese market and create a better cruise travel experience for Chinese passengers and contribute more to the Chinese cruise industry.
In reply, Thamm said his company highly valued the Chinese market and would deepen cooperation with Chinese cruise tour operators including China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
In fact, Costa Crociere is looking to ship more overseas tourists to China and create more jobs, said Thamm.
In just ten years, China has grown into the world’s fastest-growing market of cruise tourism, L said. In 2016, the number of outbound cruise tours exceeded two million for the first time in China, up by 91% from the previous year.
