I Gde Pitana, deputy for foreign tourism marketing development at the ministry mentioned that four MICE providers were requested to join a famtrip to Yogyakarta and Bali from August 2nd till 6th.
He expressed that the main target of the trip was to launch and encourage the Wonderful Indonesia campaign in order to attain the target of luring more than 15 million international visitors from Asia-Pacific belt this year to Indonesia. “Famtrip activity involving travel agents is an effective way to promote [tourism] destinations. This helps travel agencies put together travel packages to Indonesia in their home countries,” Pitana said on Thursday (03/08).
Side by side, the ministry encouraged all Indian travel agents, wedding organizers and planners to customize travel packages tailor-made for the newlyweds in their home country.
Borobudur Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Leke Leke village in Bedugul, Bali, and some other locations were included in the trip.
This year, Arief Yahya , the Tourism Minister has fixed a target for Indonesia to attract up to 546,000 Indian tourists whatsoever.
