New statistics ever since 2008 have shown that there has been a four percent growth in annual spending to reach £56 million in the past nine-year period. Worth of £570 million in terms of Scottish economy, tourism Fife supports over 11,000 jobs related businesses area with expenditure growing by four percent annually over the last nine years, enduring the effect of the recession and alterations in the climate of economy. Lately, the annual tourism conference of the region lured industry experts from all over the country comprising Justin Reid, head of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at TripAdvisor. Reid shared that in the last two years, as per recent statistics, over five million people had looked for Fife on TripAdvisor with USA, Germany, France and Canada among the top markets viewing Fife.
2017 has also witnessed Fife entering the top five most ‘instagrammed’ UK regions with digital influencers traversing all over the world to capture the award-winning beaches and striking seashores of the Kingdom along with Fife Coastal Path, to share with numerous international online and social media followers. With over 3.8 million posts, Yorkshire was the most popular. However, 80 percent of the most instagrammed regions were in Scotland.
Also, Fife was awarded WorldHost Customer Service Destination status in th early months of 2017 with over 100 local businesses choosing to put a minimum 50 percent of their customer facing staff through training to attain top customer service.
