The growth in tourism to Fiji has been exponential over the last year. It contributed a large portion to the economy of the country.
India is one of the emerging markets for Tourism Fiji and there is a steady growth of 15 – 20% on year to year basis. This year Fiji sees a 28% growth in visitor arrivals to Fiji from India in January – June 2017 as compared to the same period in 2016.
This growth is a consequence of the advertising and marketing and trade efforts in the Indian and the South Asian market.
In addition to Annual India Roadshow by Tourism Fiji held every year, the tourism department of Fiji also participated in different travel industry events. They also conducted a multi-city front line training sessions with Singapore Airlines to promote hassle free travel for Indians on direct flights from Singapore to Nadi, Fiji.
In partnership with Fiji Airways, they have an on-going consumer campaign. This campaign was widely promoted in Fiji and its varied offerings through consumer contests as well as an influencer visit to the destination.
Bollywood actress Ileana D’Cruz visited Fiji as a part of this campaign in May to June 2017 and there experience a wide range of activities on offer across different islands of Fiji.
Fiji is now growing rapidly as an international favourite among island countries of South Asia. The white sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters appeal to travellers of all the parts of the world.
With growing demand across regions for Fijian holidays, there are various international brands which are seeing the great potential in investing in our paradise.
Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay was opened in April 2017 and Six Senses is programmed to unbolt end December. There are many marketing efforts and promotional activities from Tourism Fiji for the latter part of the year 2017 to attract more tourists.
