Academy Award winning actress Shirley Jones – noted for The Partridge Family – joins Queen Victoria on her 15-night sailing from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, 2 – 17 February 2015.

Academy Award® winning actress Shirley Jones will sail on board Queen Victoria during the Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles segment of her World Cruise. Shirley Jones starred in the film adaptations of several musicals in the 1950s and 60s, including Richard Rodgers’ and Oscar Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! (1955), Carousel (1956) and The Music Man (1962). Although she won an Academy Award for her controversial role in the film, Elmer Gantry (1960), it was her role as the lovable matriarch in the hit 1970s TV show, The Partridge Family that won the hearts of millions.



Jones will be accompanied by her husband, actor and comedian Marty Ingels.  Passengers on board will have the chance to meet the actress at a book signing of her recently released biography, Shirley Jones: A Memoir, as well as two Q&A sessions and screenings of her films.



BBC news presenter, Nicholas Owen will join Queen Mary 2 for her seven-night Transatlantic Crossing from New York to Southampton 10 -17 May 2015.



BBC News presenter, Nicholas Owen, will join Queen Mary 2 for her Eastbound Transatlantic Crossing in May 2015. Prior to returning to the BBC in 2007, Nick worked for ITN for over two decades anchoring all their major bulletins including Channel Four News and News at Ten. From 1994 to 2000 he was ITV’s Royal Correspondent, playing a major role in reporting on the death and funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales. Nicholas will hold two talks, the first titled ‘Life with the Royals’ will discuss how the monarchy works in the modern world, while offering a glimpse behind the scenes with leading figures. In the second, ‘What’s wrong with the media’, Nicholas will discuss the questions ‘do newspapers still have a role to play?’ and ‘how good is the news we get from TV and radio?’

Sir Jackie Stewart’s career took off internationally in 1965 when, at Monza, he scored the first of his 27 Grand Prix Championship victories. During his career, he was crowned three-time World Champion and achieved a total of 27 victories out of 99 races.  Sir Jackie was awarded the OBE in 1972 and was later knighted by the Queen in 2001. Sir Jackie Stewart’s talk ‘Life in Formula One’ will discuss his illustrious career as one of the world’s most successful Grand Prix drivers including video extracts of his best moments, followed by a Q&A.



Lord Robert Winston will join Queen Elizabeth for part of her 14 night cruise to Spain and Italy, 16-30 June 2015.

Lord Robert Winston is a Professor of Science and Society at Imperial College London. In the 1970s he developed techniques that improved fertility treatments, including IVF, and led to the detection of fatal genetic defects in embryos and methods for their prevention. He runs research at the Institute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology which aims to improve human transplantation, and has published over 300 scientific publications in peer review journals. His latest work involves the modification of genes to improve the treatment of many medical conditions. Lord Winston will present three talks whilst on board including, ‘How did Renaissance painters portray disease?’, ‘The burgeoning threat of technology’ and ‘The extinction of the human being’.



David Blunkett will join Queen Victoria’s 14 night fly-cruise from Rome to Venice, 12-26 September 2015.

Rt. Hon. David Blunkett MP was a member of Tony Blair’s Labour Cabinet from 1997 to late 2005. He was Home Secretary in charge of counter terrorism, policing, the justice system and immigration at the time of the September 11th attack in New York in 2001. David was born blind and is the first person with sight loss to hold senior office in government in modern times. David Blunkett will deliver two talks during the 14-night cruise including, ‘Reflections on growing up without sight’ and ‘Life in the bear pit’ which will provide both a detailed insight into the heart of government – taking in the Blair and Brown years and a reflection on both the good and the bad times – as well as taking a serious look at how government works.



Pam Ayres will join Queen Elizabeth during her 17-night cruise to Venice and the Adriatic, 21 October – 7 November, 2015.

Pam Ayres has been a writer, broadcaster and entertainer for 40 years since winning the TV talent show Opportunity Knocks in 1975. She is one of the biggest selling female comedians in the UK, selling out virtually every theatre that she plays.

Peter joined ITN as a script-writer and reporter in 1962 and began newscasting that year. He was appointed Diplomatic and Defence Correspondent in 1966, and for the next decade and a half reported for ITN’s News at Ten from all around the world.



He was one of the first presenters of the BBC’s Newsnight programme when it began in January 1980 and went on to cover elections with his famous Swingometer and other live political events for the BBC until 2005. He left Newsnight to present Tomorrow’s World in 1997 until 2001.Between 2002 and 2007 Peter and his historian son Dan worked on two military history series for BBC2 – Battlefield Britain, eight battles from Boudicca to the Battle of Britain, aired in 2004 and The Greatest Twentieth Century Battlefields, transmitted in 2007. They wrote books to accompany the two series.  Peter presented D-Day: As It Happens for Channel Four in June 2013.
