Finnair will be the first non-Chinese airline to open a flagship store for the online flight bookings on the JD Travel platform. The partnership will further deepen JD Travel’s foothold in the international travel market.
JD.com boasts of 258.3 million customer base. Juha Jarvien the chief commercial officer said that the collaboration will provide more choices and localised services to their Chinese customers, the loyalty members will be able to exchange points between Finnair Plus and JD Travel.
It was noted over the past decade that Finnair has built a strong strategic focus on the Chinese market and is fast turning into one of the biggest and most preferred European carriers operating between Europe and China.
Feng Sun, the general manager of JD Travel was pleased to work with Finnair that will result in the bringing of more high-quality travel options to the international customers. It will further connect Finnair with more than a quarter of a billion consumers opening new vistas.
Nanjing route in May 2018 will increase Finnair’s growing footprint in north-east Asia. The carrier will be catering to seven destinations in Greater China during the 2018 summer season.
