At a recent survey, Fiordland National Park has been voted as one of the most Instagrammed locations in the world. The place has defeated striking landmarks and attractions like the Sydney Opera House, South Africa’s Kruger National Park and the UK’s Stonehenge.
On TravelBird’s list of the most instagrammed tourist attractions in the world, the South Island Park, well-known for its glacier-carved fiords of Doubtful and Milford sounds, occupied 39th position in the list. Based on the number of hashtags on the photo-sharing social media platform, this online travel company graded more than 470 locations in the world, with an aim to find out the most popular locations for the millennial travelers.
Also, Fiordland National Park was recommended the most Instagrammed destination in New Zealand. On the other hand, Disneyland in California became the most Instagrammed location on earth with more than 14.6 million tags, outperforming Eiffel Tower, which had 7.3 million tags respectively.
The fourth and fifth place was given to the Walt Disney World and South Beach in Florida, followed by the Berlin Wall, the Las Vegas Strip, Big Ben, Times Square and Notre Dame respectively. Fiordland National Park received more than 570,194 tags, while the Sydney Opera House gathered 540,209. Philippa Murrell of Destination Fiordland expressed that she was “delighted”!
