Fire near New Cross station disrupts services in and out of London

Published on : Tuesday, April 18, 2017

New CrossRailway users have been facing a great headache, especially the ones who have been trying to get into London this morning after a side-line fire.

This fire has been the culprit behind major travel disruptions that led to delays that are likely to extend till around 10.30 a.m. this morning. Services via New Cross in the region of south London continue to be disrupted while the emergency services made attempts to tackle the blaze.

Once the fire is out, the services would again resume along the track.

But it implies that the many services that have been coming up from Kent and entering the nation might be subject to certain delays.

A spokesman of Southeastern said that the trains through the station might be delayed or diverted while the first has to be dealt with. The response staff members of Network Rail and London Fire Brigade said that once the fire has been successfully extinguished, the trains would be able to run through the station.
