First ever startup competition will be in Dubai by Dubai Tourism

TA_20170821152727068_329232Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) has formally announced a strategic collaboration with Gitex Future Stars to launch Dubai Tourism Startup competition- Futurism.



The tourism competition invites the bright minds and innovators from around the world to submit ideas and business plans which will further revolutionise the city’s travel and tourism sectors.



Dubai 10X initiative was launched under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.



This competition is guiding the journey of the emirates towards becoming a worldwide hub for innovation in the next 10 years.



The tourism competition is also an effort in discovering the innovative solutions and facilitating further growth of the startup ecosystem, in alignment with Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, to attract 20 million visitors per year by 2020.



Yousuf Lootah, the Executive Director of Tourism Development & Investments, Dubai Tourism, while speaking on Dubai Tourism Futurism Competition, said that Dubai has grown to become the business capital of the region.




With the launch of the first-ever Dubai Tourism Futurism Competition, the Dubai Tourism targets to continue to encourage pioneering thinking, and offer a platform for startups to succeed.




As they progress towards the future, the tourism startup companies play a crucial role not only in the growth of the economy, but also in discovering solutions to meet evolving needs and tackle industry gaps.




They are proud to collaborate with Gitex Future Stars to force the entrepreneurship forward and they are committed in building an environment that will help to cultivate the innovative ideas and facilitate success.




Dubai Tourism Futurism Competition is classified into 2 categories– hospitality and visitor experience. For which the individuals and startups can put forward the original ideas and business plans.




The submissions for the competition need to be judged by panel of experts. There is a shortlist of the top 30 submissions will be awarded exhibition space at this year’s edition of Gitex Technology Week, which is scheduled to take place in Dubai from October 8-12.



This competition is offering a stage for the shortlists to showcase their pioneering explanations and the solutions to attend the conglomerates, investors and venture capitalists.




Ultimately, the three winners will be selected in each category who will receive the access to Dubai Tourism experts, as well as industry leaders to transform their vision to reality.



In the competition there will be a total prize value of $100,000, which has also been allocated to be distributed to the six winners as initial startup capital.
