Flight catches fire during emergency landing in Singapore

SIA plane fireMilan bound Singapore Airlines Flight SQ368 caught fire right after it made an emergency landing at Changi Airport in Singapore.


The flight took off from Changi Airport with 222 passengers and 19 crew members onboard. The flight made an emergency landing at the same airport at 6:50am local time on Monday 27th June.



Two hours after its take off, the Boeing 777-300ER turned back and headed towards Changi Airport as the right engine of the flight started to give oil-warnings.



It was reported that the flight had a hassle-free emergency landing at first. Just as the passengers and the crew were rejoicing and clapping for a safe landing, all of a sudden the right engine went ablaze.



The passengers and crew were not harmed but, they had to wait inside the plane for several agonizing moments while emergency services were putting the fire off with water and foam.



The passengers and the crew of the flight later came out of the flight through the stairs and were taken to the terminal by bus.



The Singapore Airlines informed that the passengers would be taken to Milan later in another aircraft on Monday, 27th June.
