The flight initially took off from the Charleston airport but it had to turn back and return to the airport after the crew noticed the smoke in the flight’s cabin. The crew noticed an odor in the cabin as well.
The corporate communications authorities of JetBlue stated that the flight landed before 2 p.m. local time and it was being inspected thoroughly at the airport. Almost after 17 minutes of the take off, the flight returned back to the airport to make the emergency landing.
All the passengers and crew members were reported to be safe during the emergency landing.
The passengers had to wait for almost an hour in the runway as the flight was being inspected by the authorities. Some of the passengers reported that smoke was coming fast through the flight’s air vents.
The passengers of the flight were transported to another flight after the emergency landing.
The JetBlue officials did not reveal any source or cause of the smoke. But the passengers received their refunds from the airlines authorities.
