Flybe’s third new route from Stansted launched this weekend with a new daily flight to Newquay. The latest service bolsters Flybe’s existing route network which also include three-times daily to Isle of Man and twice daily flights to Newcastle.
The new service will boost Cornwall’s tourist industry giving the 11million people living in the Stansted catchment area across London and the East of England convenient and direct access to the Cornish coastline which is one of the mildest and sunniest climates in the country.
Commenting on the launch of this new service Commercial Director at Stansted Airport Mats Sigurdson said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Newquay back onto the flight schedules at Stansted and to increase our connections across the UK. It’s also important link for the half a million people living in Cornwall who now have direct access to over 170 destinations across Europe and North Africa from Stansted.
“This is also great news for the millions of passengers in London and East of England who now have quick and easy access to one of the UK’s holiday hotspots and I’d like to wish Flybe every success with this new connection which I’m sure will be a very popular addition to the growing Stansted network.”
Chief Commercial Officer at Flybe, Paul Simmons, said:
“Our new summer schedule from London Stansted is now fully operational! Earlier this year we launched our Isle of Man service which was quickly joined by Newcastle, and Newquay completes a diverse trio of attractive routes.
“Flybe is fully committed to bringing new, accessible routes to our customers and our number one aim remains to bolster regional connectivity across the UK. We look forward to welcoming our new customers on board and to providing a fast and convenient way to travel to this hugely popular summer hotspot and gateway to Cornwall.”
