Of late, flydubai, the Dubai-based low cost airline has declared the newest addition of three destinations into its Russian network. This initiation of adding up will establish the presence of this airline in the country to ten points. Side by side, the airline is about launch flight services to Makhachkala and Voronezh and resume services to Ufa this autumn.
To note, the Dubai to Makhachkala and Voronezh flight services will be operational twice a week. It would start from 31st October 2017. On 31 October 2017, Ufa flight services will be re-launched with three flights a week. Once it starts, it would be the only UAE-based carrier that would provide direct air links on these routes.
To quote Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, “Russia has been a key part of flydubai’s network since an early stage in our operations. We entered the market in 2010 and focused on markets that were previously under served from Dubai. Russian passengers recognise the benefits of direct air links and together with our product offering have helped us to successfully grow our service across the country. Today, we are pleased to further expand our footprint as we see a growing demand for travel from Russia to Dubai.”
Some of the recently added destinations within flydubai’s network in Russia include Kazan, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Yekaterinburg. The visa requirement has made travel between Russia and Dubai profitable helping Russian passengers to acquire free 30-day Visa on Arrival in the UAE with no effort and resulted 140% growth in travel numbers from Russia to Dubai, as per the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
