Lately, the government of Vietnam has accepted a target program for the purpose of developing tourism infrastructure till the year 2020, with an aim in investment of around 30,664 billion Vietnamese dong (1.3 billion U.S. dollars).
As per the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on Monday, under the said program, the funds of the state will be utilized to finance projects in terms of constructing or upgrading main roads to regional tourism centers and key attractions along with building waste treatment systems in tourist attractions. Also, the state money will be utilized to help in the accomplishment of public-private partnership projects in the tourism sector.
The sum total of investment for the target program can reach up to 35,000 billion Vietnamese dong (over 1.5 billion U.S. dollars) if the projects need larger funds. In the initial 10 months of this year, Vietnam welcomed roughly 10.5 million foreign visitors, up 28.1 percent on-year, with the highest growth of 53.9 percent from South Korea, followed by China with up 45.6 percent, and Russia with up 38.3 percent said the administration under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
This year, Vietnam plans to host 13 million international arrivals, up from more than 10 million ones in 2016.
