Prof. Shola Adeyanju, a member of the NIPSS team to Osun, explained this at the time of addressing a news conference on Wednesday in Osogbo. He expressed that the state has immense tourism possibility that must be developed.
Adeyanju also said that the tourist centres showcased the huge potentials that the government should develop to the socio-economic benefit of its citizens.
He said NIPSS would expand a strategic plan for the state government while exploring the tourism potentials in the state to boost its economy. “Our coming is a preliminary visit to put in place adequate policy that will help the Osun government in turning the tourism potentials in the state to wealth for the benefit of the people.
Osun is UNESCO heritage site, which means it has what can attract tourists to the state, and we want to assist the government in maximizing the potentials to the fullest. Tourism has been a source of revenue for many states and that is why we are here to maximize the tourism potentials in the state to improve its economy,” he said.
