StauntonA building that was once the original Western State Hospital in Staunton would currently be renovated into a beautiful luxury hotel.

Developers associated with the Villages of Staunton told the regional news media that they had recently purchased the property and have been planning to transform it into 49 rooms for the Blackburn Inn.

The building would also comprise a tiny bistro and a bar.

Robin Miller who is the owner and developer of the hotel said that it would be a high-end and sophisticated hotel.

He went on to add that it would be the most expensive hotel in Staunton. They feel that there is quite a strong demand for it and therefore they are trying their best to meet that demand. Miller said that the project would be impossible in the absence of assistance from the state and federal tax credit.

The hotel is scheduled to open late spring of 2018.
