The police called the attack as an act of terrorism. The victims were rushed to the Hospital where the four were pronounced dead. The two gunmen were taken in custody.
The market which was full of people had to be evacuated and determined secure after police searched the area for explosives.
The attackers were dressed in white shirts, ties, jackets and black pants, however, some outlets said they were dressed as Orthodox Jews.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his concern over the incident. He held a security meeting after the shooting. Turkey is already facing boycott from many tourists who are afraid to visit this destination in fear of terrorist attack. There have been several statements from the government officials saying that conditions have been stabalised but the Sarona Market area where the incident took place is a busy area with food courts, it is an upscale retail with playgrounds and green space and residence on a central highway. It is a trendy and hip part of Tel Aviv which is 8,700-square-meter complex with 91 stalls, shops and restaurants selling food from around the globe. The place is a classic soft target for people visiting this Market.
