Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris Crowned with 5 Awards by The 2016 Gallivanter’s Awards

cq5dam.web.press.400.keepaspectratio2017 got off to an amazing start for Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris with the January release of the highly-esteemed Gallivanter’s Guide, as it received three Readers Awards and two Editor’s Choice Awards.

 

Readers of the Gallivanter’s Guide once again awarded Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris with the top award of Best City Hotel Worldwide for the 13th time, and Best European City Hotel for the 14th consecutive year.  Lyn Middlehurst comments:

2017 also brings a Best Hotel Cuisine Worldwide award to the exciting list, along with an Editor’s Choice for Cuisine, a strong recognition for the culinary transformation under Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel George V José Silva. Showcasing the cuisine of three chefs, each with their own individual identities, diverse talents and distinctive styles – Christian Le Squer at Le Cinq, David Bizet at L’Orangerie, and Simone Zanoni at Le George – Four Seasons Hotel George V offers guests the chance to experience a unique range of culinary expertise all under the same roof.  Lyn Middlehurst comments:

 

  • “I have never awarded George V Paris an Editor’s Choice because you, dear readers, always did it for me. However, such was my amazement at its culinary transformation, under GM José Silva and Executive Chef Christian Le Squer, that their achievements simply had to be recognised by me as well as you. It was not merely the divine 3-Michelin star cuisine in Le Cinq that made my heart sing, but also the outstanding experiences I had in David Bizet’s L’Orangerie and La Galerie. Then came Le George; another new and excellent culinary outpost that makes one reluctant to ever leave the building. Utterly brilliant.”

 

The Editor’s Choice for Spa sees the Pop-up Spa by Jeff Leatham also recognised for excellence. Lyn Middlehurst comments:

 

  • “As ever, I had numerous Spa treatments over the year, but frankly, nothing impressed me more than the Spa at George V, which is impeccably managed by Nathalie Delclos. My favourite therapist, Delphine, executed the best Sodashi Samadara facial I have had anywhere in the world and frankly, if spas could earn Michelin stars, this one would get the full three. I look forward to the reimagination of George V’s new Spa when it opens next year, with its 17-metre sunken pool and larger Spa suites, but even now, in its exquisite pop-up Spa, the standards of its therapists outshine everyone else. Superb!”

 

These annual awards are the result of votes cast by the publication’s subscribers – a readership that represents more than 40 countries. Further to the success of Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, the awards also saw Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts named the Best Hotel Group Worldwide, with 62.5% of the readers’ vote. Lyn Middlehurst comments:

 

  • “Four Seasons, it seems, knows no bounds. This year, it has rocketed from 54% to a staggering 62.5% of the vote; its service standards setting the benchmark.”
