The series of performances will take place in Montferrand Ballroom of the Hotel in November and December 2016. Just like at the times of the Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, young guests of the event will enjoy a spectacular show and beautiful gifts.
The main part of the celebration will be the music and ballet performance based on the traditional Russian fairytale by Petr Ershov about Ivan the Fool, who was cheated by his two brothers and saved by the magic little humpbacked horse. The music for the ballet was written by Rodion Schedrin in 1955 during his student years. In 1960s, the part of Tsar-Maiden was performed by the great Maya Plisetskaya.
The magic of the fairytale, expressed in the beautiful ballet and classical music, will be enjoyable for children and their parents, who will be able to be with their kids during the show. Delicious treats from Executive Chef Matteo Guida will add a sweet note to the celebration. After the show, each little guest will receive a surprise present.
Stage director of The Little Humpbacked Horse in the Lion Palace is Julian MacKay, a ballet soloist of Mikhailovsky Theatre. Colourful costumes and magic decorations are created by Ekaterina Sycheva, designer of RUSMODA company.
For out-of-town guests, Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace has created a special offer – accommodation in the Hotel for two nights for two adults and a child and tickets for the performance, with early arrival and/or late check-out upon availability and a special amenity in the room. There will be 12 performances all in all – on November 26-27 and December 3,4,10 and 11, two performances per day, so guests are able to choose the date and time that suits them most.
