Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen has appointed Maggie Yu as its new Public Relations Manager. Maggie is responsible for driving the communications activity for the Hotel in a variety of multimedia platforms. Her job also includes building relationships with media and driving local third party initiatives to continuously enhance the Hotel’s reputation as one of Shenzhen’s leading luxury brands.
A native of Shenzhen, Maggie had set her mind on a hotel career after graduating with a degree in Shenzhen Polytechnic School Video/Animation. Her hotel career journey began as a senior club floor concierge in one of premier luxury hotels in the city. Soon after Maggie moved to the area of food and beverage. Hard work and her eye for details got her promoted to the role of administrative assistant to the general manager, which gave her the rare opportunity to get an overview of hotel business. Always challenging herself, Maggie next took the promotion of marcom manager, learning the ropes of the PR trade successfully elevating the hotel’s brand reputation. With her determination and passion for the job over the last six years in the industry, Maggie then took the next challenge of moving to one of the world’s most internationally acclaimed brands.
Along the way her PR job rekindled interest in the creative arts – photography, video editing, writing and discovering the fun of social media for PR and brand positioning. Fluent in Cantonese, Maggie’s ethnic roots are Chiu Chow. When not busy at the office, Maggie enjoys music, reading, movies and travelling. She is also an avid badminton player.
