Published on : Saturday, June 11, 2016 (1)Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler joins Four Seasons hotels and resorts across the globe in celebrating the fifth annual Global Wellness Day on June 11, 2016. The Resort’s fitness, spa, food and beverage, and industry expert teams have a variety of events and activities planned for guests to celebrate their health and wellness.


The purpose of this day is to ponder the proposed question of, “How can I live a healthier and better life?” and create a movement for people to “Say Yes!” to wellness. The World Health Organization defines wellness as, ”a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being,” and this is what Four Seasons strives to create.


Get Moving at Four Seasons Resort Whistler

Four Seasons Resort Whistler offers a full schedule of exercise options to get guests moving and their hearts pumping throughout the day no matter their athletic ability or experience.


Fitness classes include:


6:30 am – Trail Run with Resort Manager Afonso Cunha
7:30 am – Lakeside Yoga at Lost Lake Park, 90 minutes
10:00 am – Morning Yoga in the Movement Studio, 40 minutes
11:00 am – Foundation Training Workshop and Practice in the Movement Studio, 60 minutes
12:00 noon – Midday Yoga in the Movement Studio, 40 minutes
1:00 pm – Zumba in the Movement Studio, 40 minutes
2:00 pm – Afternoon Yoga in the Movement Studio, 40 minutes
3:15 pm – Meditation (location to be announced) , 40 minutes.
For those looking to learn more about all that health and wellness, Four Seasons Resort Whistler will be hosting a Wellness Fair on June 11 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Courtyard. With local farmers, nutritionists, wellness specialists and massage therapists on hand to provide information and discuss the benefits that come with healthy choices.


In addition there will be three seminars throughout the day that discuss the topics of nutrition, exercise and mental health with industry experts.


Panel discussions include:

11:00 am – Nutrition Discussion with nutritionists and chefs
12:00 noon – Movement Discussion with yogis, professional athletes and personal trainers
1:00 pm – Mental Wellness Discussion with Ben Fizell
Global Wellness Day Culinary Offerings


Four Seasons Resort Whistler is committed to having healthy menu items year-round and the food and beverage team have developed a special Global Wellness Day menu that guests can enjoy throughout the day, whether that be to get the day started, post workout, mid-day fuel or a delicious dinner to reflect on the healthy choices and commitments made throughout the day.


Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and the offerings created reflect that, guests can enjoy the juice station and a wellness drink – a blend of carrot, turmeric, orange and ginger. Special breakfast dishes include the new coconut maple syrup Chia Breakfast Bowl with pistachios and fresh fruit for CAD 15 or a kale avocado and green apple smoothie for CAD 10.
