Four Seasons Resort Nevis is welcoming women from around the Caribbean to celebrate the inaugural International Women’s Golf Day on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Women and girls will participate in the first-of-its-kind global event, where women golfers – and women interested in learning and trying golf – will join in a one-day event to bring women and girls together. Women are asked to wear red to show solidarity, as women usually play from the red tee. This complimentary event tees off at 3:00 pm with lessons for novices and seasoned golfers on the Resort’s championship Robert Trent Jones II golf course.
“We want to ensure that every participant has fun and leaves feeling inspired to make a difference for the next generation of women golfers,” sayes Mac Kee France, Director of Recreation at Four Seasons Resort Nevis. “This event is open to Resort guests, staff, managers’ spouses, local women and any woman who wants to show their support for the inaugural event.”
International Women’s Golf Day was the dream of 17 golf-industry veterans and business professionals who wanted to share the joy of golfing with women and girls around the world. More than 400 golf facilities in more than 17 countries are participating in the worldwide event, and Four Seasons Resort Nevis is doing its part by hosting a complimentary nine-hole event to encourage female golf enthusiasts and professionals to team up and engage, empower and support one another. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, socialise and speak on their experience as women in a sport that is dominated by men.
Most countries participating will start and end at the same time in the afternoon, with one hour of golf instruction or nine holes of golf play, followed by a two-hour reception. This event is open to seasoned golfers and novices in an effort to increase awareness, participation and showcase how much fun golf can be for every generation.
