In support of the global Earth Hour movement, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles will be hosting two special “switched off” events on Saturday, March 19, 2016.Both Kannel Restaurant and the hilltop Spa will switch off their lights and host two special evenings by candlelight. These events will mark the local Earth Hour time of 8:30-9:30 pm, with the Resort opting to keep lights switched off in these locations from sunset and throughout the entire evening.
Saturday night’s Creole Evening will be transformed by candlelight to raise awareness of the global Earth Hour initiative. Alongside Creole entertainment and a delicious menu of local specialties, there will also be a performance from a fire dancer, followed by a bonfire on the beach from 8:30 pm to mark the hour itself.
With only the lights of candles to guide guests to their Spa treatment room, the sense of relaxation and disconnection will start from point of arrival on the Earth Hour evening. At 8:30 pm to mark the official Earth Hour time, there will be a candlelit meditation session on the Spa rooftop, where guests may enjoy the tranquil sound of Indian Ocean waves washing up on the beach, while reflecting on the importance of protecting the beauty of nature.
The planned activities in support of Earth Hour are part of the Resort’s continued commitment to the environment and complement the sustainability programs run by the Resort all year round, which include an onsite partnership with marine education company WiseOceans and the work of the Petite Anse Reef Restoration Project.
